Custom Commissions
Last updated October 21, 2026
A custom piece is made just for you, whether it’s your pet, your favorite words, or your happy place in doodle form. Here’s how we’ll work together so the whole thing feels easy and fun.
1. Getting started
Send me a note from the Custom page or email me with what you have in mind. We’ll chat about the idea, size, colors, words and timing, and pricing.
2. Deposit and payment
To save your spot, I ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit when you approve the quote. The rest is due when your piece is finished, before it ships or is picked up.
3. Creative freedom
We’ll agree on the theme, imagery, words, and colors together. Within that, I bring my own style and silly little details. That’s the fun part!
Small tweaks along the way are always welcome. Big changes after I’ve started may add time or cost, and I’ll always check with you before that happens.
4. Timeline
Custom pieces usually take 8-12 weeks depending on size and how busy my easel is. Need it by a certain date, like a birthday? Tell me up front and I’ll let you know honestly if it’s doable.
5. Sneak peeks and approval
I’ll share progress along the way and a photo of the finished piece before it leaves my studio. Once it’s finished and the balance is paid, it’s on its way to you!
6. Cancellations
You can cancel anytime. If you cancel after I’ve started, the deposit covers my time and materials and isn’t refunded. If for some reason I can’t finish your piece, I’ll refund everything you’ve paid.
7. Copyright and sharing
You own the painting, and I keep the copyright, just like with all of my work. I may share photos of your piece on my site and social media. I may use your painting to create prints for sale. If you’d like me to keep it private (like a surprise gift!), just say so and I will.
8. Delivery
Custom pieces ship or get picked up just like my other originals. My Sales and Shipping policy has all the details.
